Integrated third-party plants using configuration files for Modbus gateways

Third-party (non-Siemens) plants can be integrated in ClimatixIC. They are integrated via the Modbus interface and POL448 controller with ClimatixIC gateway functionality. Mapping files in format 'parameter.ucf' and 'OBHVNcomp.ucf' are generated by an Excel tool and provided by the application team. The files are created for each plant and loaded under "Operation > Plants" as a plant file in ClimatixIC. The mapping files can be either plant or parameter files.

As an alternative, the plant files can also be loaded via the Cloud API in ClimatixIC.

Creating and uploading mapping files

  1. Request the Excel tool to create plant or parameter files from the ClimatixIC application team.
  2. Create a plant or parameter file in format 'parameter.ucf' or 'OBHVNcomp.ucf’ for third-party (non-Siemens) plants.
  3. Go to "Administration > Plants > ‘My plant’ > Files".
  4. Click "Load plant file" or "Load parameter file."
  5. The dialog page opens (see "Files in systems > section 'Upload own files' ".
  7. Follow the instructions from 'Upload own files' and load your mapping file as plant or parameter file to ClimatixIC.
    • Only UCF files can be selected to upload a plant file.
  8. The mapping file is available in the 'Upgrade' menu as a plant or parameter file.

Only one mapping file can be loaded per plant.

  1. Follow the steps in "Upgrade” to create an upgrade.
  2. 'Mapping file' is now added as a new 'Parameter’ selection field.
  3. When loading a plant file: In the "Mapping File," select the "Plant" or "Application set" tab.
    Or When loading a parameter file: In "Parameters," select the "System" or "Application set" tab.
  4. Select the mapping file and click [OK].
  1. The upgrade with the new mapping file is configured.
  2. Non-Siemens plants are integrated in ClimatixIC with the configuration.
